The painting entitled “America” is a tribute to our country:
- “We The People,” three little words that launched Democracy for the first time in history. Crafted by Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and John Adams as they wrote the Declaration of Independence
- George Washington was an American politician, soldier and patriot who served as the first president of the United States and Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War
- “God Bless America” is an American patriotic song written by Irving Berlin. It was created as a prayer for God’s blessing and peace for our great country
- Uncle Sam has been a symbol of American culture and patriotism since 1917. A poster by J. M. Flagg was used to recruit soldiers for World War I and II. As a proud American, I wanted to give thanks to the brave men and women for their service and sacrifice. Who better than Uncle Sam representing the U.S. and a grateful nation
- The American flag and Statue of Liberty are icons of freedom. The crumpled, ripped, and torn book represents the struggles of American Democracy. Rips can be taped, tears can be overlooked and together we can remain the “Sweet Land of Liberty”
- “America the Beautiful” is an American Patriotic song whose lyrics praise the beautiful spacious skies, amber waves of grain and purple mountain majesties of this beautiful country.
